I am kind of excited about windows 8 but it needs to be redone. More widgets and more extras. I know, we always want more.
Will I have to wipe my drive of any other O/S to install the download of Windows 8?
Sounds like a question for the knowledgebase.Â

It would be wise to create a new partition to test this unless Windows 8 comes up with a testing method. You could create a partition to test which would require at least 20GB while using the dual boot system which will be automatic if you choose the clean install and select the created partition.
as a matter of interest although ill download the beta for my computer to test it. When it becomes available for the rc version will there be a version available to update my windows 7 phone as well as my computer
For how much time will the beta version be valid. Is it free of cost?
Free. Not sure how long valid.
Thank you Onuora for all the Win8 info!
Regards from Chile.

Dear Onuora,
What in the world was that? Microsoft is going to unveil it’s Windows 8 Consumer Preview work in Barcelona, Spain next Wednesday, and will reveil the preview to the public at the beginning of the event and give away all the preinstalled games and applications including the chosen logo? Well, I have to be well prepared now, knowing who will guarantee that my Dell inspiron 8600 can become a save haven when Windows 8 landed down to earth on the machines, I hope what was said earlier that Windows 8 is still using the previous Windows 7 engine was precisely true, then it’s a good news, but in the case when the downloading fail due to my poor flash modem, better late than never, I’ll contact my local vendor very soon after the given date and hope it’ll work. Thank you.Â
First rate job keeping us informed Onuora, thanks.Â
Like the Idea, I can’t wait to test this, if it works as good as Windows 7 it should be OK but if it works like Vista, you mad had taken a step back. Not to mention that I think that Windows XP wa and is the best program today since it took off in late 2001.
The problem with modern OS are that they consume way to many resources as the updates and fixes come about. Simple Example is Windows XP, it required 128 mb including the virus and a couple of secondary programs and it ran just fine, NOW, the same program with the same computer reguires 1500mb just to run fairly. In todays day you need a processor well over 3.0 and 4gigs of memory because it is needed for consumption.
While IE needed 32mb to run 10 years ago, now it needs 512mb, this is the problem with modern programs but that is the way software vendors make their money.
Honestly, vista isn’t that bad. Well that is if you run it on a quad core with 8 gigs of ram, LOL. Then the OS will be happy!
Thank you Gringo very much for the info.
All the best
 Tony
thanks for the news onuora… Hello from Italy!
Hi there!
I’m a little skeptical about the new release of windows. Historically Microsoft puts out a decent O.S. and then a dog. Windows 95 was revolutionary. Windows 98 until the second edition a dog. Win98 second edition Decent, WinMe Dog, Xp Decent, Vista Dog, Win7 Decent. I’m afraid it’s time for a dog!
Its now 9:09am !!!!
