maybe somewhat unrelated, but if possible, it would be nice to answer this question?
Why do we have nowadays laptops with such a low resolution as compared to laptops from 8-10 yrs ago? I think most of professionals are sick and tired of these so called “hi resolution” laptops that have taken so much of screen real estate and downgraded laptops to the point that it is out of any reasonable thinking.

I would like to upgrade to windows 8 but as I use cctv camera’s called wilife from logitech I am told they are not going to supply software to run my camera’s.
I have tried a test version of windows 8 and they will not work.
These wilife camera’s cost me £800.00.

Yes, me too. I’d like to be able to customize the start screen background just as we can do now with the desktop wallpaper.
Also, there are several 3rd-party applications for managing dual-monitor setups, which allow using different wallpapers, screen savers, etc., on each monitor. Can Microsoft build this ability into Windows 8. Oh, yes, and one other thing. What’s happening as far as using Kinect with Windows 8?

why cant we have windows 8 in the format that at boot up we get a simple option of metro or standard windows interface so that we decide and get staright to the windows option we want and then use the switch when were in windows or metro

Do we, as developers, have to pay subscriptions in both stores? That would be frustrating especially if you want to build free applications.

No sound ! Why buy? Drivers don’t work!
Windows 8 does not correct the problem to re-install realtek or recognize. I have searched for drivers. to no avail. I wanted a new platform that would not cost me more money. Now. it seems I’M FORCED TO BUY A NEW SOUND CARD. Not happy.
How do I get videos and audio files that work on my website to work in Windows 8 IE10 Metro version? They work fine on the “desktop” version of W8, but not in the Metro version. I know this is a problem because many, many sites that I visit have videos that don’t work in Metro, i.e., The Wall Street Journal, The Houston Chronicle. I know HTML5 has tags for video, but I do not really understand how to get the embedded Flash player to work, nor can I find anything on the Web that explains it.
