Facebook may not be too keen on developing official Windows 8 apps, at least for now, but that is not stopping other people from hoping in and creating solutions for the social networking giant.

This particularly app, that goes by the name of Facebook Touch, is one of the most popular Facebook clients currently available on the Windows Store — and for good reasons too.

As the name pretty much gives away, this app is very nicely optimized for touch, and packs features that give users the ability to view and write messages, chat with friends, check out notifications, access member profiles as well as news feeds, plus configure all sorts of settings.

The official description too is nice and simple:

“Facebook Touch is a simple, fast and comprehensive Facebook client windows 8 app which allows you to have a touch optimized experience of Facebook on your Windows 8 device.”

Live Tile support shows recent news feed items straight on the Start Screen, and the ability to search people, groups and pages is included.

This free app provides support for all Windows 8 builds (x86, x64 and ARM), though obviously its usability increases manifolds for people that are using Windows 8 on tablets and touch devices, particularly Surface RT users.
