It’s actually a pretty regular build number, only labeled as Pro Preview. Nothing much has changed, except for version number, but it seems that some Microsoft partner is happy to leak Windows Blue builds as soon as Microsoft, well, builds them.
Nevertheless, the leak train of Windows 8.1 continues.
It was not all that long ago when the build 9364 of Windows 8.1 was reportedly leaked on private torrent trackers. Soon after that came the build 9369. Now, an even more recent (but still early) build of the upcoming OS has found its way to the good old Internet.
This was first spotted by WinBeta, and apparently the build’s system32 contents and the boot.wim have been leaked. If you are trying to get your hands on it (easier said than done), do keep in mind that the build itself has not been leaked, only the core files mentioned above.
The Preview tag on this leaked build, however, could be evidence enough that Microsoft is planning a free preview version of Windows 8.1 before the commercial launch later this year.
No concrete information on the release date, but the BUILD developer conference set to take place in June in San Francisco promises to be the launch pad of the debut of the beta version.
The final version could probably arrive in August or September, according to latest reports.
