From the makers of the ever popular Evernote, comes another nifty little app that makes great use of the multimedia and touch features of Microsoft’s newest platform.

Available as a free download, Skitch is an app that brings to the table a bunch of great productivity features under one icon. At its very core a sketching app, its strength lies in its ability to annotate, edit images, add highlights, markup text and merge shapes with text and drawings.

The official description sheds a little light on the features:

“Skitch Touch is a free tool for communicating visually with friends, co-workers, and the world. Annotate images with arrows, shapes, text, and more. Use Skitch to sketch something new, mark up maps, screen captures, or even a photo. Then save or share your Skitch annotation to help others see and understand your ideas. Getting everyone on the same page has never been easier.”

Skitch allows users to either use an image already on the device, or take a photo using the built in camera and annotate it with arrows and text. From there on users can unleash their creativity. The final image can then be saved in the Pictures folder.

It also offers the ability to save images to Evernote accounts.

The latest update to the app fixes a few bugs that were reported. Supported on all modern versions of Windows, including ARM, the interface of the app is perfectly optimized for touch, making it a great option for tablet users.
