October promises a ton of goodies, perhaps the most in the year for Microsoft fans. Redmond is planning to unleash Windows 8.1 and soon after that its second generation Surface units in just a few weeks now.

And along with it is the expected unveiling of Nokia’s anticipated tablet, the Lumia 2520.

The Finnish company is poised to make the slate official at its Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi later this month, but a photo of the device has just been leaked. The image first appeared on the Chinese language website Ctech, and shows the back of the slate with its built in kickstand.

Microsoft’s kickstand for the second generation Surface takes up the whole bottom portion of the device, but this particular kickstand is in the center and is, shall we say, a bit more conventional.

A SIM door can also be clearly seen in the photo, along with a headphone port.

While we will have to wait for the October 22 event for the full details and specifications, there is also word that the 10.1-inch slate will run Windows RT and offer support for an optional keyboard that will serve as a second extended and external battery for the device.

So what exactly has Nokia’s anticipated new tablet going for it, you ask?

Well for starters, while the Surface 2 comes with sleek premium look, the Lumia 2520 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor — meaning better processing performance compared to the Nvidia Tegra 4 solution in the second generation Surface is pretty much expected.

Now how the public take to it is another matter, entirely. We should find out soon.
