says in its security advisory:
“At this time, we are aware of limited, targeted attacks directed at Microsoft Word 2010. An attacker could cause remote code execution if someone was convinced to open a specially crafted Rich Text Format (RTF) file or a specially crafted mail in Microsoft Outlook while using Microsoft Word as the email viewer.”Microsoft strongly recommends all Microsoft Word 2010 users to install this Fix-It solution in order to keep their systems on the safe side. There is a strong chance that the company will also release a regular patch on Patch Tuesday next month. At the same time, the software titan recommends users to enable a firewall, apply software updates and install antivirus and antispyware solutions.]]>

I need to install that ASAP. Thank you for posting this, it’s very important to me since I’m still running on 2010, which I love.
Has this been an issue for a long time and Microsoft is just getting around to fixing it or is this a recent problem? I haven’t heard anything about this before, so I’m guessing it’s somewhat recent.
Is this just for the PC version or for the Mac version also? I’m wondering if it’s strictly software or the combination of hardware and software.
I think it’s just PC as of now. While both are the same year, I would assume the software between the two are different because of the different systems they operate on.
Uh oh. I wonder how long this has been happening for. I have office 2010 and this worries me. I’m going to install this as early as tonight.
