If there’s one gaming genre defined by the mobile revolution, it’s endless runner. Several hit titles are available, and now we can add a Lara Croft endless runner into the mix.
The folks over at Crystal Dynamics have confirmed the development of a new title in this genre. This new mobile game is titled Lara Croft: Relic Run, and will soon be made available on Windows Phone 8 as well as Android and iOS.
This is what the company said about this in a post:
“Many of you have correctly mused that Relic Run is an adventure runner, and at its core it is, but we feel that it’s much more than that. Relic Run offers a massive amount of diversity in play, allowing for seamless transitions between acrobatic-inspired running, combat, vehicles, and epic boss fights, including but not limited to the return of the infamous T-Rex.”
Dinosaurs are just what the endless runner genre needs right now, so we’re good here!
Jokes aside, while the company has already initiated a soft launch of the game in Netherlands, making it available on both the iOS and Android platforms, the release of Lara Croft: Relic Run is expected to be staggered and will be done in phases in the months to come.
It is on track to be launched for free on Windows Phone 8, but with Windows 10 for Phones in development along with its support for universal apps, there is a possibility that it may be see a proper Windows 10 release as well.
Even if it happens later this year.
