It’s not every day that the good old Control Panel gets new features in Windows, what with the focus now having shifted to the modern Settings app in Windows 10.
In fact, Microsoft is actually moving features and options away from the Control Panel, over to Settings.
But while the port job continues, there still are a lot of handy abilities hidden away in the Control Panel, many of them advanced, while others a lot simpler. Like the ability to open the Folder Options window right from the Control Panel.
Here’s how to go about it.
1. Open Control Panel by searching for it in the Start Menu.
2. Ensure that you are in the Icons view mode. If not, change that by going to the View by: section.
3. Here, simply double-click the File Explorer Options icon to open the panel. It is the same one that you get from the File Explorer, and you can easily modify and update any changes or settings that you see fit for your use.
