This Windows 10 tutorial shows you how you can disable downloads over metered connection, so that drivers, updates and applications are not downloaded on your device.
Keep this option off is important if you have limited data allowance every month, or have a cellular connection where you are charged for everything you download. Windows 10 will postpone downloads, until you connect to a regular WiFi or network connection.
Here’s how to go about it.
1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Devices.
3. Makes sure that you are in the Bluetooth & other devices section of the panel.
4. Here, uncheck the Download over metered connections checkbox to prevent Windows 10 from downloading data while you are connected to your metered network connection. It will automatically resume the downloads when you connect to your unmeted WiFi.
