Microsoft has a launched couple other goodies alongside the Surface Go 2 and the Surface Book 3. Goodies like the Surface Headphones 2 and the Surface Earbuds.
The former actually leaked ahead of the unveil, while the wireless earbuds were originally announced back in October.
Getting back to the Headphones, these new ones now come in two colors — on top of the usual Light Gray option, you can now get them in Matt Black.
As the company explains, these new cans supports 13 levels of active noise cancelation, just like the original. These can easily be adjusted by a dial on the side. Noise cancelation levels remain the same, however, with up to 30dB for active noise cancelation and up to 40dB for passive noise cancelation.
You also have a dial for controlling the volume.
But the highlight feature is that the Headphones 2 can be used to access Cortana, skip tracks, play or pause music, and all that good stuff. The digital assistant could use a little company, and more hardware support for it is better.
Another improvement is better battery life. Microsoft says that they are good for up to 20 hours — even with ANC turned on. The original Surface Headphones were rated for 15 hours with ANC on and 18 hours with it off.
As for the price, Surface Headphones 2 will be available on May 12 for $249, $100 less than the original Headphones.
Which, perhaps, is the biggest surprise!
Also a welcome surprise, is the availability of the Surface Earbuds. These wireless marvels were made official back in October at the company’s hardware event. And they also arrive on May 12, and will set you back $199.
Sounds good!
