You get a Start Menu! And you get a Start Menu! Everybody gets a Start Menu! Microsoft has released a new build to the Dev channel, and this one is special even though it does not come with any new feature.
Windows 10 build 20180 is all about one big change. That being, the availability of the new Start Menu to all testers.
This is the new version of the Start Menu with theme-aware tiles. And Redmond previously only shipped this redesign to a fraction of Insiders, as part of its normal A/B testing. With build 20180, however, this new design is now live for everyone.
As Microsoft explains:
“We are turning on much of the new features mentioned on July 1st in Build 20161 including theme-aware tiles on Start. The new pinned sites capability mentioned with last week’s flight of Build 20175 is still only available to a subset of Insiders.”
There are, of course, several under the hood improvements in this new build.
For example, the new folder icon in the Start Menu is now a bit smaller. Microsoft says that this is to align it with the other icons, and it revised it based on user feedback.
