The big day is here. Microsoft has started giving the Store on Xbox One a fresh new coat of paint ahead of the launch of the Xbox Series X and S consoles in November.

This new look is designed to be both faster and easier than the existing one.

More than twice as fast, according to the company. That is to say, the store should now load in less than two seconds, which is pretty remarkable when you consider how sluggish the experience had been in the not too distant past.

Redmond began testing this new experience with Xbox Insiders a while back, and has announced that this new design of the Store app is now available to everyone on Xbox One consoles. Browsing this new store will require you to be logged in on the console.

As the company puts it:

“The new store will give you a much smoother experience in all aspects, whether you are looking to sign up for Xbox Game Pass, searching for the next must-have game, finding the newest blockbuster for movie night or setting up filters to ensure your children are seeing appropriate content.”

Rebuilt from scratch, this redesigned Microsoft Store for Xbox uses the same design language as the Xbox app for Windows 10, as well as the Xbox beta app for Android that has also been released today.

A new left panel provides quick access to games, movies, and TV shows, your wishlist an shopping cart, and all that other jazz. In addition, search has also been improved with filters — with filters very much like on the Xbox app for Windows 10.

This store redesign sets the stage for another Xbox OS design refresh set to debut this fall for the next generation Xbox consoles.
