Microsoft has made its new account manager available to more of its services, with the company announcing that the Azure Portal Account Manager will start appearing inside other services soon.
Sometimes next year, be a good guess.
As the company notes, the functionality will enable multiple sign-in capability across other online services that the Redmond based firm offers, including the likes of Azure DevOps to the good old Microsoft Store.
Here is the official word:
“The account manager will start appearing inside other Microsoft online services within the next 6-9 months, including Azure DevOps, Office.com, the Microsoft Store and more.”
It was earlier this month that Redmond first introduced the account manager capability within the Azure Portal that allows users to manage Azure services. The account manage works with both Azure Active Directory accounts as well as Microsoft accounts.
Users can use the account manager to sign in and out of their accounts, or switch between them as and when needed.
This is how it looks, by the way:
Microsoft explains it perfectly by highlighting how managing multiple accounts, until now, required signing into each account. This necessitated the use of incognito tabs or multiple browsers — both of which are not ideal solutions.
Using the new account manager function will offer users a much smoother experience from here on.
Makes one wonder what took them so long to roll out a functionality like this.
But it’s coming alright, and couldn’t be here sooner.
