Or, they will be soon. For they are only showing up for Insiders now. Fans have been discovering new icons for the built-in Microsoft apps in Windows 10 for months now, but these have not yet rolled out.
Sure, some of them were available with the Windows 10X emulator that was recently released.
But for the most part, we have only seen them in the media.
Well, don’t look now, but these colorful new icons are also making their way to Windows now, and have been spotted by Insiders in the Fast ring of the preview program. They have been sighted as the software titan conducts final tests before making these new designs available.
See:
The updated icons show up in the Windows 10 Start menu, the taskbar, and the splash screen, and target apps like Calculator, Alarms, Mail & Calendar, Film & TV, as well as the Voice Recorder.
Goes without saying that Redmond is rolling these out in stages, while it finalizes other icons to complete the pack.
Right now, these new icons are shipping to Windows 10 devices enrolled in the Insider Program, as part of app updates from the Microsoft Store. No idea how the company plans to make these available on production devices, once these refreshed icons are ready.
We may well get them with Windows 10 Version 2004, if all goes according to plan.
Even though, these icons are actually designed for the upcoming Windows 10X operating platform.
