Save me time, effort and extremely satisfying to use
I have been a supporter of Windows 8, despite my friends insisting that Linux is still better. I would like to be able to show them the potential of this program, as well as enjoy it for myself and my productivity.
-This is a cool thing because Windows 7 was the greatest Windows ever..
I need this because I want to have the old Ui, no useless charm bars and all. Thanks!
Saves me from banging my head off the desk when I try to navigate around quickly. The ease of use is amazing.
This would make me wanna use win 8 again just isnt the same without the start bar
Long time reader. Because of your reviews, I have upgraded to win 8 on all my computers. (Andf glad I did) but I need the Old UI for my work PC. This would help me be more productive.
I deserve the software because if I have to face the new Windows 8 alone I may have to corner the market on Prozac, and where would that leave everyone else.
I have been using windows 8 since it’s first release on October last year. Since then, I was waiting for a free software that could make the previous start menu appear during start up. And right now, you are announcing that you will give free licenses for Retro UI, I cannot wait to fell it in my hands.
Thank you for the software.
More power.
Well I’m just another simple cute guy, so….try me
I love the new apps and new features in Windows 8. But still, multitasking in the Modern UI is difficult. And I should be able to use multitasking easily, I’m using a PC, not a tablet! Kudos to the RetroUI devs for making it easier to seamlessly multitask Modern UI apps with desktop apps.
I will be totally honest. I want a license because I hate the way MS is forcing me to use their set up, if I wanted to do that I would have bought a mac instead of a PC.
I dont deserve a free licence…I love 8’s UI and wouldn’t change it for the world, sad I know, but true.
Hi Onuora,
I believe I’m your biggest fan, I think your doing a great job keeping us updated with windows 8, and nobody would appreciate it more than me, if I don’t win keep on with your news, I will still remain your biggest fan!
There’s a little critter here who doesn’t like too much change. The critter will get ptsd if you don’t send the software this way. Save the critter today!
I already got a free and even better solution that.
It is called Windows 8.
This really saves our time. Too much user-friendly!
I am getting old and do not deal with change as well as I used to.I spend most of my day on the computer, because TV is nothing more than reruns. I miss my start menu.
Hey Onuora,
I’ve been here for almost every day of my life to follow your posts. I really love to get my prize as a loyal fan.
I hate hate hate hate hate hate it
How much is that if not free?
Well, this program seems to be much better than others I’ve seen.
Just send me one and I will send a great user review.
Hey, why not give it to old grannies who can’t deal with change?
Certainly one here!
amazing soft
I deserve a license for RetroUI because it will help me work better, sometimes Modern UI gets in the way of that.
Cool I want one
Why not give one to me, for always reading your reviews etc. You convinced me to use windows 8, so i started using it again 😛
No i want to check how well this app works for myself, and for that i need the product key 😛
I would like to earn one because I’ve always been a true fan of this typpe of UI and thinix has a great thing going on. =D
I hate Win8 and never wished to give it a try just because of this absurd new Metro style look on Desktop PCs. This piece of SW might encourage me.
I am 67 and I want it before I die!!! 8 is amazing and I am glad I lived to see it come out. Now give me something else to play with, sat in this wheelchair is boring and I want more.
I am setting up a new computer for my friend. He wants me to install windows 7 in place of windows 8 which is currently installed. I want to show him the features of windows 8 but without overwhelming him. I believe that retroUI is the answer to this.
Please help me to help my friend, thank you.
I have installed the software and it’s great. Thanks for the software advice -Put me in for free licenses!!!
i want to thank Onuora for his effort, he is really productive man
When I first installed Windows 8, I don’even know how to shutdown the computer. It took me a lot of searching before I finally found it.
On the positive side, Windows 8 is very fast in start up and shutdown as compared to the older version of windows.
I have recently purchased a laptop with Win 7. I am planning to upgrade it to Win 8 but am waiting for some resolutions of the gap created by Win 8. Win 8 is exciting but misses what Microsoft’s Windows is all about – Start Button. I hope RetroUI will help me smoothen my transition from Win 7 to Win 8.
Metro is too confusing Think this would be a great improvement
i Would really like the new UI im a student studying to become a computer engineer technician and cant really afford it but i had the beta n i loved it i found once u find how to use the the old features in a new way it really becomes part of u put me in for the software
I think that I deserve the software because I am such a great guy… well, that’s what my friends tell me,anyway!
I’m 75 years old and love building computers for fun. I have 2 machines with windows 8, but really miss the start menu.
I should get it because I like windows 7, but 8 is faster but a pain to use and this would fix that.
i dont want it i have no intentions of recomeding this os to anyone
I am a tester for Microsoft and would really like to try this product to recommend to other people.
I need something to make Windows 8 worth keeping before I completely get pissed and change to Linux forever!
My Tablet is Le Pan II (Android) I do not have a touch screen on my laptop or desktop. I miss the Start Screen of Windows. BTW, I’m 73 and a bit set in my ways so the modern UI screen does absolutely nothing for me!
When the review version of Windows 8 first came out, I installed it in my desktop PC but I was overwhelmed by the new desktop screen. At first, I did’t know where to begin unable to see the familiar icons I’m used to with the classic desktop. I finally decided to remove windows 8. But with this Retro app, I will buy me a windows 8 and install it once again. Based on the video, it is exceedingly user friendly and surely I will recommend it to all my friends who are having the same predicament like myself and others. I think Thinix has done an amazing job. Thank you very much Ounora for this very interesting post. Hoping and praying to get a license.
There is no reason to go back. Start Menu is not really needed because you can find everything you want just with typing it. Remember that there are always shortcuts..
And the most important:
Times change, technology advances and we have to follow and not stay behind just because we were used to old things. It won’t be convenient initially, but you’re gonna love it afterwards!
Most of my software works on the old windows desktop. The absence of the start menu is very painful. In addition, a small Christmas gift to France… it would be nice.
I like to have start menu back in Windows 8
i like metro but i’m feel more comfortable with this software.
There are several good applications to bring back the start menu i.e. StartIsBack and if MS would listen to the punters instead of being blinkered they would bring a patch of their own out that would reinvigorate the old start menu.
Since i´m the tech person in my family I “get” to help out all the other members of my family and other relatives when it comes to Windows. After Windows 8 came out I´ve been using it from the start and I love it. On the other hand many have asked me why the old start menu is no more. I would love a copy of RetroUI to be able to try it, use it and recommend to all the people that are so set in their ways that the thought of “Metro” makes them dizzy 🙂
i prefer User Friendly OS, easy to navigate like Retro UI
The Start Menu would be an improvement since I only use Windows 8 on my laptop (Windows 8 Pro X64) and my Shack Computer (Windows 8 X64) and neither have multitouch.
I almost always select the desktop manually from the Metro Screen anyway, because that is what I have been accustomed to in previous versions of Windows (and I’m too old to change) so RetroUI would save me time and hassle.
I deserve it because you’re awesome, and I’d like my start menu on my work computer. 🙂
Why, because I like to tinker with Windows 8 that’s why!
i’m one of the thousands that dislike the Windows 8 start screen, this is definitely a piece of software would use!
I am a big fan of the Windows 7 Interface. I’ve always worked with it nicely and intuitively. I have recently installed the windows 8 OS and while there were some nice improvements, it still doesn’t beat the old efficient interface. If you give it to me i’ll send you good karma wave lengths.
The starting UI in windows are interactive for mobiles but not desktop users so i really need this retroUI to rewind back the old start interface.
I am not a big fan of Windows “Hate”, mainly because of what they have done to good old Windows, so anything to bring back the Start menu and stop Windows loading into that daft “Metro” malarkey would be a god send and help bring back some of the faith I have lost in Microsoft. Keep up the good work, always a pleasure reading your updates 🙂
I’ll never go back, Windows 8 boots up in just a few seconds. Much faster than Windows 7. That being said, I want my start menu back! This would make Windows 8 even better.
I sample a lot of software so I can teach others (mostly seniors) how to use them. I would love to have a free copy of this program. By the way, I do all my teaching for free. I am anxious to see what I can do with the RetroUl software so I can advise them of they should buy it.
Hopefully this time I might win this Software. I really need to have this in my Windows 8.
Who is the winner then? We still have no result.
I work on my computer for a living! Windows 8 seriously impedes my productivity & lively hood.
