Since its still in preview form, Windows 8.1 is not without bugs. But the good thing is that the community is actively and regularly reporting them to Microsoft via official channels.
Most are harmless in nature, but some issues do affect the overall functionality of the first major upgrade to the Windows 8 platform. Take this newest one for instance.
This time around, users are reporting issues with the function keys — none of them seem to be working, at least for some users, after deploying Windows 8.1 Preview. Users have pinged Microsoft about this problem on its official support forums.
Initial reports indicate that this particular bug is affecting Asus, Samsung, and Toshiba devices.
But Redmond has explained that it is already aware of the problem, and is looking into the issue. As a company representative posted on the official Microsoft forums:
“Thank you everyone for reporting the issue. We are investigating the issue and have contacted and are working with Partners (Samsung, Asus, Toshiba) to fix this issue. Apologize for the inconvenience.”
Microsoft is now releasing updates to Windows 8.1 Preview on pretty much a regular basis, so expect an update on this matter soon if one of your computers is affected by this function keys bug.
