I think you may finally be seeing the strategy. If you boss could get this kind of revelation, I wonder if he would finally see just how good Windows 8 really can be. But, this is more than just a question of irritating a few people who dont like change. It is about getting out ahead. This is a real gamble MS is taking. But to give in to people complaining that they dont like it is a sure loss. And looking around the web, there are enough people liking it to make it a go. Is it perfect, no, I think they can adjust Metro to better fit full computers and really fix my complaints. Metro needs to be more customizable.
Oh, and one more thing you might want to think about if you hadnt already noticed. You can close the desktop, but you cant close Metro. Desktop runs on top of Metro, not the other way around.
Yes. IF (big IF, I want to be proven wrong about the panic) and when the panic comes, people will at least know how a Windows Tablet will look and function because they have seen Metro UI on a Windows PC.
