Microsoft will have to do something quickly here. They should talk with the vendors and motivate them to bring new Ultrabooks with some breathtaking configurations(Like the ones Apple have). Also they should emphasis the vendors to make some great looking and really  thin Ultrabooks, if they want the PCs to rule. This was my take on Apple’s reply to Ultrabooks. What do you think?]]>

There are two things that I would like to see in a comparison between this MacBook Pro and any PC:
1. Prices: How much does this one cost compared to PCs?
2. At similar prices, what kind of specs can you get on a PC?
The core issue with PCs is that there are so many different brands and specs, that people usually visualize the average (under $1000) PC while comparing it to the latest offering of Apple.
And I agree that the OEMs are doing a poor job at changing that.
You guys reek of apple fanboysm. We don’t need to retina display and the ultrabook can easily beat the mac in terms of specs and battery life.
I actually agree that retina display is a gimmick. I just bought a MacBook Pro and I didn’t need it.
that’s why you are an isheep (sorry but  true)
it is almost proven to me that you are an apple fanboy.
I’ll wear that with pride sir.
🙂
wow, what happened to this world ?!! people proud of their ignorance!
Either way it goes, it’s a win-win situation for Intel… unless AMD launches some sort of miracle. And the new Macbook Pro can run Windows 8
true but no start button but a command button and no optical drive. also the Acer W710 features a thunderbolt port and starts at $799. pretty good for a 11.6 inch tab that could replace an Exo PC.
The new MacBook Pro Retina Display version looks great.
If this causes a problem for Windows, it will also cause a problem for OS X. Â Remember, this is only ONE MacBook that has Retina. Â Every other NEW MacBook Air, and all other NEW MacBook Pros have the same, basic resolution.
So if this hurts Ultrabooks, it will hurt MacBooks too.
