As we reported earlier, Microsoft delivered a few faulty updates on this month’s Patch Tuesday, and the patches have broken down a wide number of Windows 7 computers around the globe.

Windows 7 users were quick to report the problem to the software titan via its official support forums. And now the company has issued a statement on the problem — confirming that it is indeed aware of these glitches, while promising that more information on this will be provided in the coming days.

Microsoft acknowledged the problem, saying:

“Some users may experience issues with certain programs after they install security update 2859537. In some cases the programs may not successfully start. We are also aware of limited reports that certain users may encounter difficulties restarting their computers after applying this security update.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.”

The latest on the matter is that the botched update is causing BSODs (Blue Screen of Death) on pretty much every single computer at reboot. If your system is suffering from this problem, the only solution right now is to completely remove the update.

The technology titan will quite likely get to the bottom of all this in the days to come, so stay tuned.
