rebrand, says Microsoft:
“We heard from customers that the inclusion of Apps in our name was confusing. Are they something I install? Do I go to an app store to get them? No, to use them all you need is a web browser. Ah! You say. So it’s like Office, online. Yes, exactly. Office Online.”Office Online has a nice ring to it, got to admit. Since Start Screens are now everywhere, the company has also announced a new Start Screen for Office Online that allows users to create new documents, spreadsheets and presentations, or send emails from Outlook.com with just a few clicks — or taps for that matter. At the same time, the company has also given the Office.com website a fresh new redesign this morning, bringing it in line with other products under the Redmond umbrella. You can check out the modern approach, similar to Windows 8, at the link above. Office Online is still available free of charge, and supports all modern browsers out there.]]>
