rumors and reports point towards the fact that Microsoft is gearing up to launch this highly anticipated update for those with compatible devices. And although a mass rollout is yet to kick off, things are starting to move in this direction. The newest hint for this is the fact that Microsoft have recently listed Windows Phone 8.1 on the update history page right here, along with a rundown of features that users will get once they upgrade their smartphones to the newest version of the mobile operating system. There are four variants of Windows Phone 8.1, namely 8.10.12359.845, 8.10.12382.878, 8.10.12393.890, and 8.10.12397.895. Which version you get depends upon your carrier and country, but you will receive one of these four. Redmond has also confirmed that the update will come with Cortana, the digital voice assistant, though this feature will only be available in the United States right now. Sure, there is a workaround to enable it for other markets, and you can read all about that here. Anyway, the other major improvements in Windows Phone 8.1 are support for dual SIM handsets, more columns on the Start Screen, separate volume controls, an option to install apps on SD cards, and automatic app updates.]]>

Nice digging there. As you said, this means the update is imminent now. I can’t wait for it to drop and hear from people how they think it is.
Was this a slip up or intentional? It seems like this was posted a little earlier than it should have been, but I’m not positive.
