Long time due, too. Redmond has rolled out a design refresh for the Microsoft Store app, the desktop one at least, along with a few new features to go with it.

First noted here, this new update to the Store app for Windows 10 users implements the depth element of the company’s new Fluent Design System, with the product pages for apps and games having been redesigned with this in mind.

Here are a few screenshots, first:

As you can see, the titles now scroll in parallax to the header that is now a large full-width image. Or in some cases, a video trailer.

In addition to this, the reviews no longer display automatically in this new layout, and they are now hidden in a tab alongside system requirements and related content. This can be good thing or bad, depending on the perspective, but it’s now changed.

Instead, Microsoft is now using that space to highlight relevant user content like a general overview of the app, screenshots and trailers, as well as the details of its most recent update.

Not bad, right?

Aside from the design changes, the software titan has also added the option of remotely installing apps to different devices that you own. Quiet like what the company offers on its web store.

Microsoft seems to be rolling out this update to all Windows 10 users gradually. Since it is a server-side change, it may be a while before it activates on your PC.

But it’s one of the better improvements the software giant has rolled out in recent memory.

More like this, please.
