Microsoft unleashed its second generation Windows RT tablet yesterday, and the refreshed version of Surface 2 is now a faster and lighter than its predecessors.
The company has enhanced the technical capabilities of the slate by throwing in the NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor that is optimized both for maximum performance and longer battery life. This better performance is the reason why the display resolution has been bumped up to full HD.
Here are the complete Surface 2 specifications as provided by Microsoft:

The Windows RT 8.1 operating system comes with a bunch of new features that not only make the devices it powers easier to use and more productive, but new options allow it to be used both in landscape and portrait modes.
Surface 2 is also compatible with all the official accessories that Microsoft announced yesterday. These include revamped Touch and Type Covers, a new Music Cover and the Docking Station.
And as Redmond noted during the launch event, the Surface 2 is now available for preorder. Deliveries, however, will only start on October 22, four days after Windows 8.1 hits general availability.
