As we approach the end of the year, there is excitement once again in the air! As that’s usually the time when Microsoft holds its Surface event to unveil new hardware.
And while the coronavirus pandemic may have turned many a plan upside down, the show will go on for the Surface family.
That is because according to the well-informed WalkingCat, Redmond seems to be planning an event in two weeks. It may take place either on September 30 or October 1, depending on the particular time zone you find yourself in.
Here:
Surface event = Oct. 1 or Sep. 30, not sure about the timezone stuff 😅

So, while the date might not be certain right now, the event very much is.
This time around, the technology giant is keeping things nice and light. While the company will, in all probability have an array of Surface hardware and accessories to announce, they may not be blockbuster new hardware.
Like the Surface Pro 7 and the Surface Laptop 3 that were the highlight of last year’s event.
Instead, word is that the second-generation Surface Pro X will be one of the models announced at this mysterious event, which might house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor.
And then we also have what is being billed as a lower-end Surface Laptop that internally goes by as under the codename of Sparti. This device could come with a 12.5-inch display, and is said to be powered by a Core i5 processor that beats with 4GB of RAM.
Microsoft plans to sell this new Surface for anywhere from $500 and $600.
These are all unconfirmed details for now, and even the event itself is now official as of this writing. But something good is definitely is cooking in the Surface family, and we should know what this month or the next.
Depending on your time zone, of course.
