Looking slick! With the release of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update upon us, Microsoft has taken the opportunity to show off the Fluent Design System in a new video.
The clip provides a look at the refreshed design across Microsoft apps, along with the new effects.
Previously codenamed Project NEON, some parts of this new UI philosophy are on track to land with the Fall Creators Update once it launches tomorrow. The software titan still continues to refine this user interface style, and the next major update to the OS is projected to bring it about completely.
Well, as complete as it gets these days.
Redmond rolled out this new video as part of the Windows Developer Day:
The idea of the Fluent Design System is to substantially improve the Windows 10 experience, and although only two elements are ready right now, more are in development, and should be with us by the time Redstone 4 rolls around.
The two elements being the new Acrylic effect and Reveal, both of which you can see implemented in the universal apps like Groove Music, Mail and Movies & TV, in the video above.
More changes will be implemented in time, including the application of this new design system on the Taskbar and the Start Menu.
Until then, we can expect to see glimpse of it scattered throughout the operating system after installing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update once it begins rolling out on October 17.
How do you see this? Is this the right direction?
