Skype finally has a fresh look on the desktop, and as you would expect, this new design is totally inspired by Windows 11—rounded corners and all that jazz.

Microsoft just updated its VoIP communication platform for Windows, Mac, Linux, and the web. Skype has now been updated to version 8.78, while its iOS and Android versions also received an update with their own additions.

You can scan this page to find out all that is new.

However, on the PC side, the update brings a modern interface to the desktop and web versions of Skype, including a refreshed design and rounded corners. It also includes new color options and larger avatars.

In addition to the new messaging experience, Skype is getting a refreshed calling experience alongside new screen sharing options. The update also fixed some issues with screen sharing and a bug that caused the app to crash when sharing photos.

On the other hand, the mobile versions gain a new search bar and the option to have notifications moved to the bottom of the screen.

The Skype desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux can be downloaded from here, while the web version is available at this link. The app is also available on iOS and Android.
