Because sometimes, improved notifications are all we need! Microsoft has updated the official Surface app, available on Windows 11 and Windows 10, with several welcome changes.

Among those are improved notifications for Windows updates.

You will also find enhancements to the keyboard, mouse, audio equalizer, and headphones tutorials volume experience, making for a feature-packed release. This newest version of the app is 61.5058.139.0, in case you are wondering.

This is the official changelog:

  • Added notification for Windows Updates
  • Improvements to Surface keyboards and mice experience
  • Improvements to audio equalizer and headphones tutorials volume
  • Quality and stability improvements

Pretty good.

At least, compared to the last update that was released for the app earlier this month. That one was arguably low on noteworthy changes like above and was primarily focused on an improved experience for smart charging, as well as quality and stability improvements.

For those of you who are unaware of the Surface app, this is a program that comes preinstalled with all Surface devices. The app contains useful information about the devices, including the warranty of the machine, its model number and other important details.

If you are the proud owner of Surface hardware, then you can get your hands on the app below.
