Nokia Lumia 920. We already have heard about the Lumia 810 for T-Mobile. Where does that leave Verizon? We do know that Samsung will be releasing devices that run on Windows Phone 8, but we haven’t heard a lot about Nokia’s plans for Verizon. Considering the strong relationship between Nokia and Microsoft, most of us think of Nokia offerings as “flagship” devices for Microsoft. Don’t worry, though. Nokia isn’t leaving Big Red completely out in the dark. New leaked photos have arrived showing off what is believed to be the Lumia 822 for Verizon’s Network. Previously this device was rumored to exist under the code-name ‘Atlas’. We don’t know everything about this phone yet, but it does seem to be a mid-range device along the same lines as the Lumia 810 and 820. The device also features 4G LTE, which is a big plus. Considering the numbering “822”, this is probably the same thing as the Lumia 820 for AT&T, with a few minor changes along the way. If this proves true, we already know a great deal about its specs. The AT&T Lumia 820 features a 4.3-inch WVGA display, an 8MP rear cam with Carl Zeiss technology, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU at 1.5GHz, NFC, Qi-Compatible wireless charging and micro-SD for expansion. What we don’t know is specifics about when we can expect the handset to arrive or even what kind of pricing it will have. Considering Nokia’s delicate position and their need to expand the market, you can likely expect these to price aggressively against other Snapdragon S4 Android devices. Users aren’t sure what to think of Windows Phone yet, and it will take a bit more to make someone consider a WP device than an Android– or even the iPhone 5. Pricing could certainly prove key here. This marks a pretty big move on Verizon’s part since they haven’t truly stocked or carried Windows Phone 7.x devices for a while now. Still, I’m hoping to see a wider variety of Windows Phone 8 devices shortly after launch time. This fills the midrange gap nicely, but I’m still hoping for a few lower-end models and perhaps even a variant of the AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 for the higher end market. What do you think of the Lumia 820? What are the odds that the Verizon 822 is essentially the same phone? [ source ]]]>
