The annual Worldwide Partner Conference has traditionally been an important event for Microsoft, and this year’s gathering in Houston is even more significant as the software titan is nearing the release of Windows 8.1.
Steve Ballmer took the stage for the first keynote of the WPC 2013, providing us new details on not only Windows 8.1 and other products, but also the software titan’s future.
The CEO of Microsoft explained that Windows 8.1 was custom designed to address and accommodate customer feedback. The operating system packs a number of features requested by users, including a Start button. Ballmer said at the beginning of his keynote:
“We’re going to spend a lot of time today also talking about Windows 8.1, because we listened and we learned, and as good as Windows 8 is I would just encourage you to really take a look at the Windows 8.1.”
The head of Microsoft pointed out that all Microsoft executives are very satisfied with Windows 8, and everybody at the company expect more people to make the move to this platform in the coming months, thanks to the imminent arrival of Windows 8.1.

At the same time, Ballmer also shared some pointers about Microsoft’s future — the technology titan is trying to increase its focus both on users and partners. Talking to the attendees, Ballmer said:
“We will only succeed as a company if we arm you to go approach these challenges. You need to see these products. You need to understand their potential. You need to believe that they can help you serve our joint customers. You need to know each other.”
The software titan will soon debut Windows 8.1, but as far as the company’s flagship operating system is concerned, the company claims that everything is going according to plan. The coming months look all set to dynamically improve the situation of adaption and acceptance of the newest Windows OS.
