And not even that, if we go by the latest numbers provided by AdDuplex. To say that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update has had a slow start would be an understatement.
Besieged by bugs, errors, and installation issues, this version of the operating system seems to be finding life difficult out in the wild. Furthermore, Microsoft still seems to be taking a cautious approach to the rollout, even after two months since the finalization of version 1809.
All this has been revealed in the latest numbers AdDuplex released in its report today.
These statistics have been collected from Windows 10 users based on apps that ran the SDK of the advertising network on the day of November 27. Some 5000 Microsoft Store apps are enrolled with the company.
And the numbers show that even after rerelease two weeks prior to the data for this report being collected, the install base of the October 2018 Update increased only from 2.3% to 2.8% among all Windows 10 PCs.
The April 2018 Update remains the king of the hill, with 89.5%.
All other versions of the operating system dipped — Fall Creators Update dropped from 4.6% to 3.9%, Creators Update saw a decline from 1.9% to 1.5%, Anniversary Update fell from 1.8% to 1.4%, while version 1511 saw its share reduced from 0.5% to 0.4%.
The original version, meanwhile, dropped from 0.3% to 0.2%.
Moving on, this chart above shows the slow approach Microsoft has taken with this update, opting for a gradual rollout instead of being quick out the gates.
On the hardware side of things, we see that the Surface Pro 4 still reigns supreme for Microsoft as far as devices are concerned. Interestingly, Surface Go has picked up some good momentum, while the Surface Pro 6 is coming strong as well.
