Windows Tablets Post 67% Year Over Year Growth

Android leads with a 67.7% market share, iOS now stands at 27.5%. In the words of Ryan Reith, Program Director, IDC Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Device Trackers, the market trends have changed in these last couple of years. Stabilization:

“The tablet market continues to be impacted by a few major trends happening in relevant markets. In the early stages of the tablet market, device lifecycles were expected to resemble those of smartphones, with replacement occurring every 2-3 years.”
Customers just don’t have the urge to upgrade to new tablets every year, or even every other year. Price is also another important factor for buyers, and this is where both Android and Windows powered solutions trump their iOS powered counterparts.
