No app gets left behind! A case can be made that the best new feature in Windows 11 is the streamlining of all the included applications in the OS.

This change in the operating platform was long overdue. Windows 11’s fresh start finally allowed Microsoft to focus on improving this key area.

As part of the new arrival, Microsoft is launching new inbox app experiences for Windows 11. The firm has already confirmed that it is working on refreshing these built-in applications, and we have seen the new Snipping Tool, Photos app, Paint, and the Clock app with Spotify integration in action.

The Your Phone app is the latest to get in line.

According to teasers shared during last week’s annual Surface event, which witnessed the debut of the Surface Duo 2 phone, the redesign of the Your Phone app helps you focus on what is happening on your Android phone without constantly picking up your device.

The notification center has been moved to the left pane.

And it is also possible to completely mute notifications from any app installed on your phone if you are not used to receiving notifications on your PC. This can be done by clicking on the mute button to turn off the notifications for that app, and Your Phone will automatically ignore all notifications for that app.

The navigation bar for the Your Phone app is now located at the top of the app window, allowing users to access the messages, photos, apps, and call pages.

And while some of the user interface changes in the Your Phone app mirror the overall look of the Windows 11 operating system, the above screenshot suggests that Microsoft is going beyond.

The company seems to be planning to use WinUI 2.6 controls for the Your Phone app buttons like “Open phone screen” and the search box.

Overall, this is a very well-thought-out redesign for one of the more important applications on the modern Windows platform.
