  • Not a bad result considering win7 is a very solid OS and PC market is shrinking due to the rise of mobile computing.

    • Indeed. Windows 7 sold 300 million licences in the same 15-month period. Considering that Windows 7 came after Windows Vista and in a period when PC were selling like hot cakes, the Windows 8/8.1 results so far are really nothing to complain about

  • Not bad, but why do people act like Microsoft has not always reported this numbers. They’ve been doing it this way forever. Plus, considering Windows 8 came out before Windows XP retired and with people still in the middle of Windows 7 transition, it’s not fairing that bad. Would be nice if Windows 8.x was closer to 20% but at least it’s growing
