device is considered as a worthy alternative to the popular ASUS Transformer Book T100, but one big drawback is that the Acer machine only offers a 1366 by 768 resolution — fairly standard, but fairly serviceable too, nothing special. But now there is news of a special model that brings the awaited full HD display option. In fact, this particular variant has already surfaced on the official Dutch website of the company, as the Aspire Switch 10 SW5-012, and comes with an impressive 1920 by 1200 pixel resolution. A tradeoff or two have been made for this bump in screen density, however. The processor is the immediate causality. The original model came with an Intel Bay Trail Z3545 processors, while this new one has to make do with a relatively slower 1.8GHz Z3735F Bay Trail solution. You do get a practical 2GB of RAM, along with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Of course, it is powered by Windows 8.1 with Bing, in order to cut the necessary corners in terms of costs. But on the whole, it still makes for a very inviting option. There are even claims that this new model might sell for less than the original, which came with a price tag of $349. Would be even better if this holds true.]]>
