Now users can download Lightroom directly without needing to waste time downloading Creative Cloud first.

The Lightroom app was quietly released into the store and, while users do still need a paid subscription, it is now much easier to get started – and you get a free 7-day trial as well.

This is the very first Creative Cloud app to appear on the Microsoft platform and join the ranks of other editing apps, such as Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Express. The Lightroom app was released on the Mac app store first, back in June 2019.

It is almost identical to the Creative Cloud app and, if you already have Lightroom on your PC, it will download side-by-side, creating a second copy. However, Adobe does have technical restrictions in place, which means you can’t run both apps at the same time.

What are your thoughts? Are you happy about this new addition to the Store? Do you even use Lightroom?
