Time for some gaming news. Some Age of Empires IV news, at that. Microsoft is finally ready to talk more about this highly anticipated game, and has set a special Age of Empires focused event.
Development teams behind the three remasters and the upcoming fourth entry will be at hand to showcase their creations on April 10 at the appropriately titled Age of Empires: Fan Preview. It is a whole celebration of the franchise.
A franchise that is now over 20 years old.
Microsoft shared more details in the announcement post, and the upcoming broadcast will include a new look at gameplay, civilizations, and more. And that’s not all, the teams also have exciting news regarding the Definitive Editions of Age of Empires II and III.
Here is a trailer to go alongside it:
But the highlight will be Age of Empires IV.
The highly anticipated game will finally receive another showing at this event. Developed by Relic Entertainment, this RTS title last appeared in public in 2019, following its 2017 unveiling. Set in the medieval era, Age of Empires IV is perhaps the biggest strategy title in development.
As for the other games, though the announcement does not hint at anything specific, more new expansion pack reveals are in the cards, or perhaps even console ports.
The Age of Empires IV: Fan Preview will kick off at 9AM PT / 12AM ET / 17:00 CET on April 10, with the half hour program set to be broadcasted across AgeofEmpires.com, Twitch, Facebook Live, the Xbox YouTube channel, and Bilibili.
This will be followed by a week of special fan celebrations on the official Age of Empires website.
Mark your calendar, folks!
