here, and now we have the specifics of the new slate, the Impera i8. This is, obviously, the first Windows tablet by the company, and is powered by Windows 8.1 with Bing, the version of the operating system meant for low cost and affordable device — which this truly is, with a suggested retail price of 849 RON, which translates to around $263. allview_impera_i8_a allview_impera_i8_b allview_impera_i8_c allview_impera_i8_d Onto the hardware, then. An 8-inch IPS LCD with a 1280 by 800 pixels resolution is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735E processor that runs at 1.33 GHz. This is paired with 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, with a microSD card slot that takes cards up to 32GB capacity. Camera options include a 5 megapixel one on the back, and a 2 megapixel one on the front. Pretty standard stuff overall, but the big factor here with local vendors is additional exposure and marketing these devices get — which ultimately benefits the Windows platform overall. Interestingly, we have no release date for the tablet, but a casual estimate is after August.]]>

  • I want to like it, but the hardware just looks cheap and tacky to me. Less than $300 is a good price, but this is something I’m going to ignore.
