The red team responds! After NVIDIA and Intel both baked in support for the Windows 11 operating system in their respective drivers, AMD has done the same with the latest release of the Radeon drivers.

A hefty package has been released today in the form of the Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.9.1, which not only adds in official support for early versions of the upcoming OS, but also optimizes a couple of new games, brings more Vulkan extensions, and an automatic overclocking feature.

Smart Access Memory support for older GPUs has also made the cut.

In terms of games, Deathloop, the newest game from Arkane Studios, debuts tomorrow. For optimum performance in this title, it is recommended that those rocking AMD graphics cards upgrade to these drivers.

The same goes for the Call of Duty: Vanguard open beta that is kicking off this week.

Aside from game optimizations, these new drivers also come with some interesting new features, including one that is called Auto Overclocking. This feature is dedicated for users with Ryzen 5000 series processors and Radeon 6000 series graphics cards.

As shown below, the new Tuning Control section appears right in the Performance > Tuning tab offering one click overclocking capabilities for both GPU or CPU, or just the CPU.

AMD Smart Access memory support is also being extended to Radeon RX 5000 series graphics cards. This feature unlocks performance benefits when running supported AMD graphics cards alongside a Ryzen 5000 series processor.

Previously, only RX 6000 series GPUs had support for this.

Speaking of support, the most sought-after feature is official support for Windows 11. Happy that report that AMD has confirmed that early builds of the upcoming OS are supported in this version, even as the release notes list Windows 10 as the only support operating system.

There’s the usual splattering of bug fixes and known issues in these drivers, the details of which you can scan from the notes.

The Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.9.1 optional driver can be downloaded via the Radeon Settings app on Windows or from the link below.
