File managers are all the rage on Windows 8. Cloud-based file managers, more so. While most good file managers have some sort of cloud storage management built in, there are some dedicated choices too.
And few are better than Cloud File Explorer.
This modern app provides easy access to several (should I say most) cloud-based storage services. All the popular ones are in — including SkyDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.net and FilesAnywhere. In fact, professional services like Amazon S3, HP Cloud and more also make the cut.
Before we go any further, a look at the official description:
“Storage Made Easy Cloud File Explorer is the Windows 8 client for the Storage Made Easy Open Cloud Platform. It enables you to view and manage files from many different clouds directly from your Windows Device.”
While it is clear that this is an application clearly aimed at power users, the free version of this app actually provides 5GB of free storage (hosted on Amazon S3) along with the ability to add up to 3 additional cloud services.
Fair enough deal, when you think about it.
The user interface and design of the app is efficiently minimalistic — no flashy bells and whistles, just bold clean icons that don’t get in the way. The idea here is to provide users with an unsophisticated way to manager their files in the cloud directly from their Windows 8 computers and devices.
And speaking of computers and devices, all three variants of Windows 8 are supported, making it a good option for users on desktop and notebooks, as well as tablets.

useless. Not enough space. I need terabytes of space. I need to be able to upload several gigs of files all at once. And I have yet to find a free storage site that allows this.
