From humble beginnings, video gaming really has come a long way. So much so in fact that this category of apps remains one of the most important that defines a mobile platform.
Windows 8, for all its hits and misses, still has a fair way to catch up on the gaming front. While there are some impressive games available for it in the Windows Store, a fair portion of them are hastily coded, simple casual ones.
The arrival of an exciting title is quite a cause for joy on Microsoft’s flagship apps repository.
Drift Mania Championship 2 is one such title that made it entry for Windows 8 a while back, offering impressive visuals and support for Xbox 360 controllers. The game has recently received a free version that allows users to get a taste of what the game offers before buying the full paid iteration.
The description states:
“Start a drift career or compete in a drift battle tournament or play against a friend using the new online multiplayer mode. Upgrade and fully customize your ride with performance upgrades and visual mods. Complete over 60 achievements in career mode. Challenge drivers from all over the world using the global leaderboards.”
While you do not get the complete set of goodies in the demo version of the game, it still includes a bunch of high-performance vehicles and drift circuits where you can burn some rubber, and brush up your drifting skills.
The demo version supports all Windows 8 platforms including the desktop and tablet flavors, but seeing the type of racing this game offers, plugging in an Xbox 360 controller is recommended.
