Photo editing apps are always a hit on mobile devices.

One of the best photo editors available for Windows 8 platform is Fhotoroom, boasting features that rival solutions from a little company by the name of Adobe, Inc.

Fhotoroom has its roots on the Windows Phone platform, and received rave reviews when released.

The app offers a wide array of photo editing tools in a streamlined package — everything you would expect in a professional solution like Crop, Saturation, Black And White, Sharpen, Mirror, White Point, and more.

You also get the ability to frame your pictures and add a variety of borders to photos.

As you would expect, the app is perfectly optimized for the touch interface with easily accessible icons and helpful explanatory text beneath each.

Fhotoroom recently got a new update, adding support for over 150 RAW files from vendors like Canon, Olympus, Nikon, Kodak, Sony and friends.

A pro version is also available bringing with it features like Red Eye Removal, Lens Correction, Denoise, ColorSplash, Panorama Rotate, and Chromatic Correction as well as the ability to edit images up to 5128 pixels in size.

Both versions can be deployed on all Windows 8 installations, from x86, x64 and Windows RT.
