One of the most popular YouTube clients on Windows 8, YouTube RT, was recently removed from the Windows Store. It is now back with vengeance, complete with a sparking new name.
Now called Hyper, the app is available on the Windows Store with the same feature set that made it originally so popular, including the ability for users to log in to the site and access their playlists and subscribed videos.
Before we get any further, here is the official description:
“Hyper is the most advanced way to view YouTube videos on your Windows 8 device. It allows watching videos in SD, 720p and Full HD 1080p, as well as the ability to download in all those qualities. You can sign in to see your latest Subscribed videos as well as comment and rate videos.”
The free application allows users to watch videos in all available qualities — and this is something not all YouTube apps offer.
Additionally, the video clips can be easily downloaded and watched later without the need for an Internet connection. The app also comes with the ability to comment and rate videos.
The design of the app is remarkably modern with videos occupying most of the screen real estate. And as one would expect, the user interface is optimized for touch, making this app a perfect option for Windows RT users along with the traditional x86 and x64 versions of Windows 8.
