There already are a few good news feed readers (RSS) available on the Windows Store, but this new one aims to offer a lot of features in a simple and effective package.
Creatively titled, Readiy, syncs with the popular Feedly service, and users can sign in our out with their Google accounts. As mentioned above, the UI is not all that elaborate, but is perfectly serviceable. It displays all unread news items by default.
Before we get any further, here is the official description:
“Readiy is the most awesome feedly client on Windows 8. Extremely fast, beautiful and packed with features – Readiy is RSS reading at its best. Give it a shot and you’ll know why our users love Readiy.”
You can browser the news pieces vertically, and clicking on any item displays it to the right of the screen. More importantly, however, a number of filters are available that allow you to change what you see. For example, a single news feed can be displayed, or only feeds of a select folder, started or rated items.
While a pro version is available, the free flavor of the app includes many useful Windows 8 exclusive features like the ability to pin individual feeds to the front page, along with keyboard shortcut support and plenty of sharing options.
And like all good apps, this one supports Windows 8 on all platforms, x86, x64 and ARM.

I like it but wish I could mark what I’ve already scrolled by as read…
Very valid suggestion! Maybe for a future update?
I talked with the Developer and he explained a way to do it but I’ve yet to get it to work. Sadly, I’ve had to get a Nexus 7 for my “consumption” needs for now. I just love the reading apps better on the Android right now (the official Feedly app is simple but elegant.) Love my Surface Pro but as a tablet, battery life just doesn’t cut it. 🙁 Wish the Iconia W3 had been better.
