wow great work apple! once again! 😉
but, isn’t this a website about windows 8? what is apple doing here? 😛
Looking forward to see some new ultrabooks with win8 which come close to such a good computer like the macbook pro
Those new specs are about hardware. Windows is about software. Shouldn’t Asus and Samsung (to name a few) get all proud and release a better product, considering windows while building it. I mean, those extraordinary specs form Apple are not from outer space. Someone should be able to do at least as good…
Sure, nice hardware, the screen resolution is the most impressive part, but I would have to see it to know if it is necessary or not. The problem is the same that Apple will always have. Beyond the screen, the rest of the hardware is not the top of the line hardware but it is not the bottom. Windows will be available on a wide range from machines that will absolutely smoke this (for a premium of course, check out the alienware line of laptops) to basic machines that will do for budget prices. When you look at the Windows machines that most closely match specs with this, you will likely find the Windows machine coming in at a much lower price. Of course that is an assumption based on the last 15 years, maybe this year will be different. Based on this, I dont see anything here that gets me excited.
Really starting to look like a mac fanboy there, Mr Amobi! 🙂
I know I know.
What can I say – they build really good stuff.
I was doing the math the other day and I have spent close to $5000 on Apple products in the past 3 years.
The new macbook pro is definitely an incredible device, and bundled with the software it comes with makes an amazing experience. I hate when, who never owned an apple product, complaint about apple and criticise every product they release. Thats pointless.
Even if it we’re true that Microsoft W8 could not match these specs, which I sincerely doubt if I look at the specs of Acer’s W8 Ultrabooks and tablets, it’s not all specs which will make the difference. Sorry to say, but for the first time Apple will have real competition in the tablet market and Microsoft is poised to take away market share. And it might happen sooner than you think.

Yeah it’s a Windows 8 site but this is the competition. We have to see what’s coming down the pipeline…

You would think right?

I see no benefit to having that resolution and the competition can easily beat it on specs
