poured on his head in order to raise awareness for ALS on Thursday. And now Bill Gates has delivered on the challenge too, after he was asked by Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. If anything he went one step ahead, and designed a machine that helps him dump the bucket of ice water on himself. And of course, a video has been uploaded on YouTube too. You can watch the clip below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS6ysDFTbLU Class as always, with an eye from the dramatic, Bill apparently filmed this video on the dock at his home. And it shows him watching Zuckerberg video on his Surface Pro 3, and then getting to work on designing a simple structure. Geek is as a geek does. ALS is short for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a lethal disease that affects the nerve cells and the brain of the patients, and people affected by it are not able to move. Although there is a treatment that slows the process downs, no cure is currently available for this ailment. The ALS ice bucket challenge has participants choosing whether they want to get soaked in ice cold water or donate $100 to ALS research. With this new drive, more than $4 million (a four times increase since last year) has been raised for the ALS Association to help them find a way to stop this disease. Gates has now challenged Elon Musk, the technology entrepreneur, Ryan Seacrest, the entertainment personality and Chris Anderson of TED to take the challenge within the next 24 hours. Well played, Bill, well played.]]>

Fantastic. Just fantastic. I couldn’t be less surprised though given how charitable and classy Bill Gates has always been. Well done as always.
Yes, well played, Microsoft! 🙂
Kudos to Mark Zuckerberg too, for once!
Wow, bill gates is so poor, that he can’t pay 100$ for ALS research 😛
I’m sure that Gates and the others have already given or will. 🙂
