No really a surprise but here we go.
In a story out today, Bloomberg is reporting that Microsoft’s Surface tablets didn’t do very well at all sales wise since released.
The numbers are slow.
Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) has sold about 1.5 million Surface devices, people with knowledge of the company’s sales said, a slow start in its bid to crack the fast-growing tablet market to make up for slumping personal-computer demand.
Microsoft has sold little more than a million of the Surface RT version and about 400,000 Surface Pros since their debuts, according to three people, who asked not to be named because sales haven’t yet been made public.
Apple sold 22 million iPads in Q4 last year (just for contrast).
Not really a surprise due to the fact that the units are too expensive compared to iPads.
I have a review version of the Surface Pro that I will be using for the next few weeks. I like it so far but I don’t know if I $1200 like it.
Not sure why Microsoft didn’t make the Surface Pro $699 and the RT version $299. The story would have been different today.

Do you have a Surface? What do you think?

$1200 is too high, but 699 is too low. They do not need to give them away. This would indeed iritate other OEMs. $850 seems like a reasonable price for the Pro, and maybe $499 for the RT.
All those trolls with windows 8 profile pictures… Aaaah humanity and its love for wastes of time…
Bloomberg needs to chill and buy shares or something
The biggest mistake they made is price it the same as iPad. I have never seen a newcomer product charges the same as the market leader and expect to be successful.
Troll.
