Nokia Lumia 920 in a big way. How so? Apparently the Chinese Lumia 920T will have a better graphics processor. The original Lumia 920 as we know it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 that features an Andreno 225. The Chinese Lumia 920, on the other hand, has a MSM8960T with an Adreno 320. This Snapdragon S4 Pro Chipset might still be dual-core but it is supposed to perform about 2 to 3x faster than the standard 920, thanks to the improved GPU. So why make this change? No, it’s probably not just to win a few more Chinese buyers over, nor is it to make all of us jealous. The truth is probably that the new chipset supports TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE networks used by Chinese carriers. With Nokia seeming to love variants (820, 822, etc, etc), you have to wonder about when the US and other markets will get additional variants of the flagship smartphone. While the Lumia 920 is exclusive to AT&T in the US, could we eventually see a Pro Chipset version of the Lumia 920 for other US carriers? What do you think? Will this improved version of the Lumia 920 come to other markets or will it remain in China only? [ source ]]]>

  • I’m guessing if you look at many of the phones from the US and the same handset from China they use different chipsets. They’re just making a big deal about this because its a Microsoft phone and people love to hate on on Windows phone 8.
