Microsoft has spared no expense in promoting Internet Explorer 10, and the software titan continues to show everyone just how much emphasis it puts on user privacy in its latest browser.
As things stand, Internet Explorer is currently the second most popular browser in the world — at least according to the figures provided by market research firm StatCounter.
The newest numbers for the first two weeks of April 2013 put Google Chrome as the clear and present leader of the browser world, with a market share of 38.05 percent. Internet Explorer is not far behind with 31.13 percent of the market.
Firefox is in third position with 19.81 percent.
The most popular browser on Mac OS X systems, Safari, is installed on 7.95 percent of computers the world over, while Opera rounds up the fifth position.
The numbers may not be all too flattering for Microsoft, but the company is reportedly preparing a new version of its flagship browser, Internet Explorer 11 for release sometimes this year.
Most reports suggest that IE 11 could be set for arrival with Windows 8.1, the first update to Microsoft’s latest operating system, which itself is gearing up for a summer release.
The eleventh iteration of Internet Explorer, meanwhile, is said to pack a number of features and enhancements, along with support for some of the most popular web technologies.
