article that claims that Microsoft have already started sending out invites to a Chinese event where the digital voice assistant service is expected to go live. The invitation features the Cortana logo on a phone — a clear enough sign for the July 30 gathering. However, no official confirmation has been provided on this matter, and all we know for sure is that Microsoft is keen on bringing Cortana to important markets like the United Kingdom, Canada and China as soon as possible. Interestingly, the report states that Cortana could be released in China under the name of ‘Huna’. At the moment, the digital voice assistant is exclusively available in the United States, however, Redmond plans on delivering a localized experience in other markets, meaning Cortana will understand and speak the local language and dialects of a particular country. For instance, in the United Kingdom, you can expect to hear a local UK accent. All these changes will be server side, and automatic, meaning users will not be required to perform specific actions in order to get Cortana up and running on their phones, when the service becomes available to them. For the time being, we await further confirmation about the Cortana launch in China. July 30 is almost here, and should provide evidence of launch.]]>

Wow! That escalated in a hurry. I’m a little surprised China may get Cortana this quickly, but we will at least be able to hear how it is and just what kind of technology we are dealing with. I’m excited.
Siri is a joke. How about Cortana? Is it anything better?
